Protection for Your Stored Goods
When you store with Stowzi Self Storage, you can choose StoreProtect.
StoreProtect is an agreement under which Stowzi Ltd trading as Stowzi Self Storage accepts an enhanced liability for qualifying Loss or Damage to your stored Property, subject to the full StoreProtect Addendum.
StoreProtect is not a contract of insurance. Stowzi Self Storage is not an insurance company and is not acting as your insurance agent.
How StoreProtect Works
During the booking process, you must provide a Maximum Replacement Value for your Property, whether or not you choose StoreProtect.
The Maximum Replacement Value is the maximum total Replacement Value of all Property you have in storage at any time during your storage period.
You are responsible for:
- Providing your Maximum Replacement Value during booking.
- Confirming that you wish to choose StoreProtect.
- Paying the applicable StoreProtect Charges.
- Keeping your Maximum Replacement Value accurate throughout your storage period.
Your StoreProtect charge will be shown during the booking process before you confirm your booking.
What Does StoreProtect Provide?
In return for payment of the StoreProtect Charges, Stowzi Self Storage accepts enhanced liability for qualifying Loss or Damage to your Property.
Where StoreProtect applies, the standard £100 negligence liability limit in our storage Conditions does not apply.
Instead, liability is subject to the StoreProtect Addendum and is limited to the lower of:
- Your Maximum Replacement Value.
- The actual value of the Property affected by Loss or Damage.
This is subject to any applicable Proportional Reduction and the exclusions and limitations contained in the StoreProtect Addendum.
Make Sure Your Declared Value Is Accurate
If the Maximum Replacement Value you provide is lower than the actual total Replacement Value of all of your Property at the time of Loss or Damage, our liability will be reduced proportionately.
For example, if your Property has a total Replacement Value of £10,000 but you declare £5,000, liability will be reduced by 50%.
If You Do Not Choose StoreProtect
StoreProtect is optional.
If you decline StoreProtect, you are required to arrange insurance at your own expense to cover the stated Maximum Replacement Value of your Property.
You must provide evidence of that insurance to Stowzi Self Storage within 30 days of your Goods being placed into storage.
If you do not provide satisfactory evidence within that period, you will be enrolled into StoreProtect and the applicable StoreProtect Charge for your declared Maximum Replacement Value will be added to your account in accordance with the Storage Agreement.

If StoreProtect does not apply and your Property is affected by Loss or Damage, Stowzi Self Storage's liability is limited to negligence only, up to a maximum of £100 or the actual value of the affected Property, whichever is less.
